the Apollo 13 mission in April 1970. Apollo 13 was scheduled to be a lunar
landing mission, but sustained major damage during the flight to the moon,
and consequently there was no lunar landing.
The spacesuit has the designation A7-L, and is in the EV (Extra-vehicular)
configuration. It was constructed in 1969 and consists of approximately 26
layers of materials including a rubber-neoprene bladder, aluminized mylar,
and a fire-resistant cover of beta-cloth.
Transferred from NASA in 1973.
